Sadly, it turns out that the You’re Not Helping blog, now deceased, was predicated upon a pack of lies. There is no defending it. It is especially sad because there is surely a place for what was promised and a number of interesting — indeed helpful — things were said there. Those positive signals will now be lost, perfectly understandably, amidst the noise of controversy and deceit. The moral of the story is a common one: don’t listen to people on the basis of agreement; reason should apply to all positions and claims.
Moreover, all of us who agreed with YNH at various points will now be even more suspect by those who disagree with us. That surely doesn’t help at all.
